Standard No. 4 - Custodianship
The purpose of this standard is to describe the obligations of an organisation that accepts a custodian role for a dataset within the Queensland Spatial Information Council initiative.
The standard can be used by government, private sector, academia, or community groups. The standard recognises that custodians may have other standards to comply with, in particular state government's requirements under Information Standard IS44 and IS46.

Custodianship related Information Standards for Queensland Government have been developed through the Queensland Government Chief Information Office.
IS44 - Information Custodianship
This Standard establishes the principles which need to be applied in implementing custodianship processes for information assets across Queensland Government agencies.
IS46 - Use of Copyright Materials
This Standard defines Queensland Government agency requirements regarding their copyright use obligations under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and whole-of-Government arrangements.
