Rural Addressing
In Queensland, the responsibility for rural property addressing rests with respective local governments.
A rural address consists of an address number related to a unique road name within any given locality. Benefits of residents having a logically established rural address are far reaching. There is an improved response to emergency situations and it helps local governments in the delivery of services and administration.
A rural address also assists with mail and other service deliveries including medical and vet services. It creates a vital database for a wide range of government agencies and eliminate duplicate datasets.
All Queensland local governments that have a rural component are implementing rural addressing with 70% of these local governments having completed full implementation.
QSIC provides an advisory role for the rural addressing in Queensland.
