Stage 2 - A Government information open access and use strategy
Stage 2 involved extensive consultations with state, federal and local government agencies, and the private sector. This consultation resulted in a recommendation that state government agencies move to an information licensing framework based on Creative Commons (CC) for qualifying information where no issues of privacy, confidentiality or other legal or policy constraints apply. Pilot agencies were identified for implementation of the Government Information Licensing Framework (GILF).

This report was accepted by QSIC at its meeting on 30 August, 2006 with a statement of support for continuation to Stage 3. Given significant Australian and international interest in Creative Commons and its potential application to Public Sector Information, the Queensland Government Deputy Premier and Treasurer, Ms Anna Bligh, has approved its publication.
